William Spencer Huggins, 47

SSG William Spencer Huggins, 47, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2025.  William was born in Gainesville, FL, and had been a resident of Clay County for the past 11 years.  Over the years, he lived in various towns, with most of them being here in Florida.  His military career began in 2011, and he was currently serving in the Army National Guard as an Air Defense Battle Manager Systems Operator.

Mr. Huggins is survived by his wife, Gail Huggins; children, Alyssa Huggins, Carter Huggins, and Liam Huggins; parents, Billy (Carol) Huggins and Sherrie Norman; brothers, Michael (Raquel) Huggins and Andrew (Meagan) Huggins; grandson, Kayden, as well as nieces and extended family.

 Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 21, 2025, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home.  Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.  There will be a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 AM prior to services on Thursday.

Because of the “Flower Policy” of Jacksonville National Cemetery, the family urges that memorial gifts be given to your favorite charity in William’s name in lieu of flowers.
