Syble Ann Jones, 79

Syble Ann Jones, 79 of Orange Park, FL passed away Monday, December 28, 2020.  Syble was born in Georgia and moved to Jacksonville at a young age.  She graduated from Paxon Senior High School in Jacksonville, FL in 1959 and Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN. in 1965.   She had 21 years of dedicated service to the Clay County School System and 25 years of total service to the Educational Community, retiring in 2003.  While at Middleburg High School, Syble was both a teacher and a sponsor to many after school activities.  After her retirement, she received a schnauzer as a gift from a friend and Button and Syble became inseparable. After Buttons passed away, she became involved with the Safe Animal Shelter in Orange Park. She was a breast cancer survivor and at the time of her death she had two cats, Chloe and Leona. She had adopted Chloe and was fostering Leona.  Syble will be remembered by many past students and facility.

Syble was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Veal Jones in 1949 and her father, Paul Hamilton Jones in 1959 and is survived by her brothers, Jimmy (Ellen) Jones and Paul (Sue) Smith, sister, Winifred Vaughn, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She will be buried at Bethany Holiness Church Cemetery, 422 Bethany Church Road, Ambrose, GA next to her mother’s grave.  There will be no service at this time.
