SFC Charles Bryce Burchett, U.S. Army (Ret.), 82

Charles Bryce Burchett, 82 of Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026.  Charles was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Bryce and Mavis McKee Burchett.  In 1967, Charles joined the US Navy and after the closing of the base he was stationed, he joined the US Army and retired in Augsburg, Germany.

While stationed in Germany, he was a Scout Master where he enjoyed camping and mentoring young men.  After living in Arizona for a few years, he moved to Florida in 1995.  Charles worked for Uncle Bob’s Self Storage, Atlantic Flee Market and retired from Swift Trucking in 2008.

Mr. Burchett is survived by his wife, Carol Jeanne Burchett, sons, Larry Bryce Burchett and Jerry Bryce (Betty) Burchett, brother, Ernest Joe Huff, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors.
