Ronald Paul Short, 76

Ronald (Duke) Paul Short, age 67, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on February 22, 2026 in Orange Park, FL

Duke was born in Kenosha, WI to Donald Paul Short and Mary Petroski on January 13, 1950. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater with a bachelor’s degree in business management. He went on to work as a bookkeeper for United Electric Company in Jacksonville, FL.

Duke is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Geral Collier; son Steven (Spike) Short (Martha); grandchildren Syra and Seton Short; brothers Michael Ray Short (Vicky) and Patrick Neil Short (Kelly). He was preceded in death by his parents.

Duke had a love for his family and friends, a love for vacations in warm climates, and enjoyed attending Jaguar games with his son.

A Celebration of Duke’s Life will be held on February 27, 2026, at 11:00am at Russell Haven of Rest in Green Cove Springs. Visitation will be held at 10:00am prior to the service.
