Robert “Bob” R. Tebow II, 78

Robert “Bob” R. Tebow II, 78, passed away on April 23, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was surrounded by his family at his home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, missionary, and evangelist. He loved his Savior, his family, and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with the world.

Born on January 27, 1948, Bob met his wife, Pam, while they were students at the University of Florida, where he started Campus Crusade for Christ. In 1971, after graduating, Bob and Pam were married. Bob then attended Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, where he received both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology with honors.

Before entering full-time missionary work, Bob served as the first Area Representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Northeast Florida. He also served in pastoral ministry, first as an associate pastor at Southside Baptist Church and later as a senior pastor at Cornerstone Community Church. Through each season, his passion remained the same: sharing the gospel and pointing people to Jesus.

In 1985, Bob felt called to take the gospel to the Philippines, with a bold vision: that every man, woman, boy, and girl would have the opportunity to hear the message of Jesus. Realizing he could not accomplish this alone, he founded the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association (BTEA) and built a team of Filipino evangelists to reach communities across the Philippines. Over the past four decades, partnering with Filipino evangelists and short-term missionaries, millions of people have heard the gospel because of Bob’s efforts.

Bob’s life was marked by fearlessness and a relentless commitment to proclaiming the Kingdom of God. He also served as a founding board member of the Tim Tebow Foundation, extending his impact to countless others around the world. Yet, those closest to him knew that his greatest joy was his family – investing in his children, cheering them on in their activities and sports (especially anything related to the Florida Gators), and later, delighting in his 11 grandchildren.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Pam; his children: Christy (Joe Allen III), Katie (Daniel Hathaway), Robby (Jessica), Peter (Casey), and Tim (Demi-Leigh), 4 siblings, and 11 grandchildren.

A public ‘Celebration of Life’ service will be held at the Church of Eleven22 (San Pablo Campus, 14286 Beach Blvd.) in Jacksonville, Florida, on Thursday, May 7th at 10 am ET.

In lieu of flowers, the Tebow family invites you to honor Bob by supporting the work that he gave his life for – sharing the gospel across Southeast Asia through the Bob Tebow Evangelistic Association, which his son Tim will carry forward. Your gift will enable multitudes of people to hear the gospel!
