Richard F. Larson, 71

Richard “Rick” Fremont Larson of Middleburg, FL, passed away peacefully from Alzheimer’s disease on February 12th, 2023, at 9:16pm.

 Rick was born in Jacksonville, Florida to his parents, Fremont and Dorothy Larson on December 13, 1951. His father Fremont passed in Orange Park, Florida in October 1993 and his mother Dorothy passed in Orange Park, Florida in February 1996.

 He spent his childhood in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Ribault High school in 1969. From there he went into the United States Air Force and spent four years serving active duty and then went into the Florida Air National Guard in Jacksonville, Florida for the next 31 years. He retired as Chief Master Sergeant in February 2007. During his time in the Air Force, he married Phyllis Annette Gay on January 11, 1974 and lived in Abilene, Texas. When he joined the Florida Air National Guard they moved to Jacksonville, Florida where they were blessed with Timothy Sean and Stephen Ryan before moving to Middleburg, Florida in 1984.

 He will be remembered for his service to the Lord, his family, and the United States of America.

 Richard is survived by his wife of 49 years, Phyllis Gay Larson; children, Timothy Sean Larson (Elizabeth) and Stephen Ryan Larson (Leslie); grandchildren, Grant, Erin, Camryn, and Samantha; sisters, Marilyn Sutton Rowell (Roger) and Carolyn Pendarvis (Billy) with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Diane “Frankie” Dickens.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Middleburg. A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00AM.
