Richard Allen Davis, 76

Richard Allen Davis, Sr., 76, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away at his home on Saturday, March 11, 2023.

Richard was born on March 4, 1947, in Jacksonville, Florida. He served his country after enlisting in the Army, served the City of Jacksonville as an EMT, Paramedic, and Firefighter for over 32 years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant and was the Battalion Chief of Training for Clay County Fire and Rescue, retiring after 10 years of service. Richard was a 3rd degree Master Mason, 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and a Shriner for decades. He graduated from Vincennes University in 2004. He married the love of his life, Annette (Shuman), in 1966. Together, they built a life filled with love and making memories with their family. Richard loved learning, teaching, tinkering with anything broken, and playing games, but he especially loved building remote-controlled airplanes. He was a member of Immanuel Anglican Church.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Annette; two children, Angela Strausbaugh (Michael) and Richard Jr. (Amy); five grandchildren, Brenden, Parker, Kendal, Avery, and Reece; and his brother, Tom (Faye). He was preceded in death by his parents, George Davis and Abbie Jones-Patterson, and his sister, Francis Riner.

A service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Immanuel Anglican Church, 915 Orchid Avenue, Keystone Heights, FL 32656, with Bishop Raul Toro, Jr. officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. Donations can be made to the Shiners Children’s Hospital @ LoveShriners.org in memory of Richard A. Davis
