Raymond Douglas Utley, 51, of Middleburg, FL passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024.  Ray was born July 11, 1972 in Clearwater, FL to Howell C. Utley, Sr. and Lucy W. McCook.  He lived most of his life in Clay County, attending schools in Orange Park and Green Cove Springs.  Ray made his home with his family in Middleburg.  He was self-employed as the owner of S&R Carpet Service.

Raymond was a kind and thoughtful man, always putting family and friends before himself.  He was a devoted husband for 28 years to his wife, Suzanna Jackson Utley, and a loving father and grandfather.

He was predeceased by his precious son, Aaron Gray Utley; and older brother, Howell (Hal) Clifton Utley, Jr.

Raymond will be missed by his surviving family including his wife, Suzanna; daughters that he loved more than life, Allison Utley and Ashley Utley; precious grandson who called him “Granddad”, MJ Ally; mother, Lucy McCook (Mac); father, Hal Utley, Sr. (Colleen); brother, Alan Utley; mother-in-law, Carol Huggins (Billy); father-in-law, William Jackson; brother-in-law, William Jackson; nieces, Janie Toups, Anastasia Utley, Skyla Utley, and Kendyll Utley; his much loved cousins and friends too numerous to list.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Patrick Martin officiating.  Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services at 1:00 pm.  Graveside services will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
