Ramona Jean Ellis, 74

Ramona Jean Ellis was an independent woman for the times.  She came from modest means and was very frugal.  She despised buying clothes and shopping generally.  Very much unlike any other woman I have ever known.  She was very family-oriented and sacrificed whatever it took for her children.  She was extremely wise and well read. She was well known to be a loyal and lasting friend and she loved doing the extraordinary for ordinary people. She has paid for others food at the supermarket, paid for meals for police officers and firefighters. She was generous with her love and shared it to anyone that she believed needed it. She was honest in all things and especially in pointing out your shortcomings in regard to friends, family and always maintained the high ground in any argument.  You could not out-argue Jean. She was gifted in helping others to realize the driving reasons for their emotional problems. She was a savior to others. Always willing to listen and to advise. She was a natural born mother who persuaded through true heart-felt love and affection.  You always knew where you stood with her. She was gentle, loving, caring, and shared that with all that would accept it. Her life was a good life and she had no regrets for anything she had ever said or done. She was amazing, confident, smart and driven to be as alive as she could be for as long as it lasted. She was not just loved, she was adored. She was a talented seamstress and won several blue ribbons for her handmade quilts. She loved parrots and birds of any kind. She ran a parrot rescue here and in Memphis Tennessee for the last 20 years. All the words in the dictionary cannot describe how very special she was. She was adored by many. She will be missed beyond measure. Being loved by Jean was the greatest of gifts.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Lance and Lorene Roby; and brothers, David Fieldor, Wayne Roby, Ralph Roby, and Larry Roby.  She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Randy Ellis; son, David Bay; daughters, Vicki Lamberth, Kim Crawmer (Steve); brothers, Robert Alford, Billy Roby; 9 grandchildren and 7 greatgrandchildren.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720

Jean Ellis…she was Aunt Jean to me. I met her on my first day of kindergarten some 50+ years ago, and she and her family became my family. She loved with her whole heart and soul. If she loved you there was no doubting that fact. She never held back her feelings and was quick to let you know if she was pleased or disappointed in you…you always knew where you stood with Aunt Jean. On the outside she was tough but she wore her heart on her sleeve. She was a 2nd mom to me for many many years and I knew that if ever I needed her or anything she would be there come hell or high water. I love you Aunt Jean… until we meet again! ❤

Jean was the type of person that would never show me and my brother any kindness. She did everything in her power to keep my dad away and distant from us. My dad allowed this devil to come between him and his own blood. In 39 years i dont have one good word for this pos other than her and my dad will be rotting in hell together. This lady did not bring anything but sadness and evil to us. My dad thinks he knows God but all he knows is dilution. Ask her wonderful husband how many Christmas gifts he would send us over the years or birthday gifts or even call and see how we was doing. I can tell u never. Jean would not allow it so be bowed down to her and basically turned his back to his own flesh and blood. He has never ever one time ever reached out in 39 years to see if me or my brother needed anyrhing. Not once. We needed something …… a dad … who wasnt there. I hope he feels pain for the rest of his sorry ass life and he suffers. He and Jean which if he truely loved would have never cheated on her many many many times. He thinks he is so perfect but he is just full of shit. Hope the grave digger in Hell puts both of there sorry asses next to each other. Both trash and Garbage. God Bless !!
