Palaniswamy Vijayaraghavan, 60
Palaniswamy Vijayaraghavan, 60, of Fleming Island, FL passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020. He was born in Coimbatore, India on April 16, 1960. He married his wife, Manjula, in 1988 before immigrating to the United States to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry at Rush University in Chicago, IL. He completed a Post-Doctorate at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN and a Master of Public Health at the Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, IN. He most recently worked as the Director of Clinical Research at the Baptist Health Research Institute in Jacksonville, FL.
Known as “Dr. Vijay” to all, he enjoyed traveling the world to places such as Germany, Japan, Switzerland, China, France, Mexico, United Kingdom, Russia, Belgium, Iceland, Thailand, UAE, and Spain. He loved to teach, so much so that he also taught community college courses on the weekends in addition to his full-time job. He also loved watching sports with his sons, listening to Indian music, and eating Tropical Smoothie Cafe. He enjoyed being involved with the Hindu Society of Northeast Florida in Jacksonville, FL devoting his time to volunteering and worshipping.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Manjula, sons Nevin and Niran, daughter-in-law Erin, and granddaughter Charlotte and many extended family members.
A private family service will be held.
