Nancy Ann Giroux, 93 of Fleming Island,FL passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025. Nancy was born in Waterville, Maine to the late Norman Green and Marion Peters. She married the love of her life, Aurthur Giroux in 1954 and lived many places in the USA and overseas. After retiring in Virginia, Arthur and Nancy moved to Indialantic,FL and were very active in the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic church. After Arthur’s passing, Nancy moved to Allegro on Fleming Island and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
While at Allegro, she loved her Allegro family and she was always busy with; handbell choir, WII bowling, hot chicks with drumsticks and chair volleyball along with various other activities. Nancy was always a joy to be around according all of her friends with one phrase to describe her perfectly: “Never Give Up”!!!! She will be dearly missed by her family and friends at Allegro along with their staff and all of the entertainers she was able to sing and dance with at their incredible social functions in her 8 1/2 years there.
Mrs. Giroux was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Art” Giroux in 2010 and is survived by her children, Deborah (Michael Powers) Knickerbocker, Timothy (Bootsie) Giroux, Carrie Stanley, and Leslie (Ed) Stack, Gregory Giroux, brother-in-law, Michael (Debbie) Giroux, 9 grandchildren, Sydney (Brandon) Rand, Kyle (Carley) Giroux, Chad Knickerbocker, Megan Knickerbocker, Kristin Stanley, Elizabeth (Mike) Urick, Nora (Jonathan) Stastka, Joe (Maggie) Stack, and Colin Stack, and 4 great grandchildren, EmmaGrace, Declan, Easton and Haley.
A Mass of Celebration will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fleming Island, FL with burial to follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Father Donal Sullivan will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00 PM Monday evening, December 8, 2025 at Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the building fund of Sacred Heart Catholic Church: https://sacredheartcatholicchurch.org/ .
It is also the policy of the Jacksonville National Cemetery to only accept two floral arrangements.
