Myron “Bud” Holmes, 83

Myron “Bud” Holmes, 83 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022.  Bud was born in Orlando, FL to the late Carson and Edieth Reardon Holmes.  After 26 years of service, Bud retired from the USAF as a Master Sergeant E7 and continued working in Civil Service at NAS Jacksonville for 30 years as a computer expert.  He also owned Steamatic, a restoration company, for several years.

Bud was a family man from the beginning, a golfer, little league coach and stats/scorekeeper, transporter, and chef for the grandchildren.  He was a loving husband and father, Christian man who loved life and was always happy, sharing funny stories and a desire to make everyone laugh.  Bud will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife, Mary Lossen Holmes, children, Dru Holmes, Mike Holmes, Bryan (Cathy) Holmes,  Brian (Alef) Lossen, Robbie (Barbara) Lossen, Laurie (Mike) Baker, and Teresa (Richard) Harvey, sister, Joyce “June” Wiggins, 14 grandchildren, Dylan, Carson, Cody, Kaelyn, Mia, Brian, Addison, Chelsay, Amelia, Michele, Mike, Rachael,  Richie, and Melanie, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 9, 2022 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Brader officiating.   A time of visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 AM until service time.  Burial will follow in Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2:30 PM Thursday with Military Honors by the US Air Force.

Because of the Jacksonville National Cemetery flower policy, the family is asking that memorials be made to a charity.

 Enter I-295 N toward Savannah to north of I-10

Take Exit 32 , turn left at Lem Turner Road, go 5 miles

Turn right on Lannie Road, go 3 miles

Jacksonville National Cemetery will be on your left
