MICHAEL LEE TATE, 56
Michael Lee Tate, 56, of Middleburg, FL passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.  Michael was born in Rota, Spain in a Naval Hospital. He grew up in Orange Park, Florida, later moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan where he spent his early adult life. 
While living in Michigan, Michael work as a foreman in the asphalt business.  He took an early retirement and moved back to Florida where he resided for the past fourteen years of his life.
Throughout Michaels’s life, he enjoyed many activities such as BMX (bicycle) racing, riding dirt bikes, working and rebuilding fixing cars. He enjoyed spending hours putting together puzzles of all sorts. He was very talented, artistic by nature, and loved to draw and sketch. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. He was on a bowling league for years as a competitive bowler.
He had a passion for watching NASCAR football, COPS, Motortrend, Magnum PI and various other television shows. He had a love for listening to Classic Rock N Roll music. His favorite cars were the Camaro, Corvette, and Chevelle, a die-hard Chevy lover. Michael had the biggest heart and was known for being the guy that “fixed things,” for everyone and would give “anyone,” the shirt off his back. Michael will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard Clifford and Ruth Irene Powney, Raymond Charles and Mary Ann Tate and is survived by his mother, Mary Vickers, father, Ronald Tate, siblings, Mark (Amy) Tate, Pamela Foster, Dustin Chenowitch, and Amanda Tate, son, Travis (Harley)Tate, uncle, Chuck Tate, and his grandchildren Anthony Ryan and Delilah May.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 18, 2025 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Bill McMillen officiating.  A time of Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM prior to services.
