Lynn Foy Morgan, 81

Lynn Foy Morgan, 81, of Orange Park, Florida would probably be annoyed that we started by telling everyone how old she was, so let’s just get to the good stuff. As a daughter, big sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lynn dedicated her life to those she loved. To know her was to know how proud she was of her family.

After meeting the love of her life, James R. Morgan, at the age of 19, Lynn began her greatest adventure in love, marriage and life as a wife in the U.S. Navy…but only after ensuring her kid sister knew she wasn’t leaving her forever.

Never one to shy away from her own goals, vision and frankly, things that would scare most people, Lynn leaned into her fierce intelligence and uncanny intuition taking on security jobs, motherhood and just about anything she dreamed. Four children, 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild later, Lynn was known for her signature “Granny L” license plate which she proudly displayed as she drove to join her grandkids on field trips, weekend tournaments, games and chorus concerts. She was also known as the host for Christmas dinner, the women who could make any tablescape fabulous and a fearless traveler taking on places like Egypt and Costa Rica.

Even in her last days, Lynn valued living her life on her own terms and took every opportunity she could to make her grandkids feel special. Her family is tremendously proud of the legacy she leaves behind passing on her strong, independent, and fearless nature to those who were lucky enough to share life and learn from the force that was Lynn Morgan.

Lynn passed away on March 16, 2023 and was preceded in death by her husband James R. Morgan. She is survived by her siblings, Kay Fillingim and Preston Foy; children, Sandra Kay Winslow (Marty), Jim Morgan (Tammy), Foy Morgan (Vickie), Ronda Padgett (Keith), grandchildren; Matt Sheffield, Aschelle Morgan, Jana Morgan, Alek Morgan, Jason Winslow, Kaylynn Ingram and Jamison Padgett as well as her great-granddaughter Adelynn Ingram.

Services will be at 12:30PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
