Leila “Polly” Gonyon, 85

Leila “Polly” Gonyon, 85 of Ocala, FL passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017. Mrs. Gonyon was born in Andalusia, Alabama to the late Ernest “Nub” and Ethel Arnold Hall and raised in Green Cove Springs, FL.  She later moved to Orange Park before moving to Ocala 22 years ago.  Polly enjoyed roller skating and dancing in her younger years and loved gardening and bird watching. She was an amazing cook and loved taking care of her family.  She was a member of Russell Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gonyon was preceded in death by her brother, Ernest L. Hall and sister, Sara “Nell” Collins and is survived by her husband of 45 years, Paul B. Gonyon, children, Mike (Diane) Harper, Danny (Chrissy) Harper, Tony (Sherry) Harper Gonyon, Dr. Eric ( Dr. Jennifer) Gonyon and Tammy (James) Lindley, sister, Kathryn Hooks, 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, June 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery Heritage Section.  Visitation with the family will be 5-7:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
