Kathleen Riley Quinlan, 75

Kathleen Riley Quinlan, 75, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026.  She was born in Glens Falls, NY to the late Bernard James Riley, Sr. and M. Louise Swinton Riley.

Kathy graduated from Whitehall High School in 1969 and then attended Adirondack Community College. She enjoyed reading and learning with a curious mind and a passion for discovery. A devoted animal lover, Kathy found great pleasure in (since she was a little girl) learning about, watching, being around, riding and caring for horses, especially her beloved horse Sugar Bear. She was also a bird and wildlife enthusiast, finding tremendous peace and enjoyment in the beauty of nature, personal gardens that attract birds and butterflies to the wonders of our national park lands and the serene beauty of botanical gardens. It was easy to see and feel Kathy’s creative spirit through her hobbies, which included crafting, painting, gardening, and target shooting. She embraced life with a sense of adventure, most notably when she and her husband sold everything and spent five years traveling the country in their RV, creating incredible memories that would last a lifetime.

Above all, Kathy cherished her family. Being a wife, a mother and a grandmother was her greatest joy. She will be remembered for her love, humor, incredible strength, adventurous spirit, and her beautiful, heartwarming smile.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and M. Louise Riley; as well as one brother, John Riley.  She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Thomas Quinlan; son, Tommy Quinlan (Noreen); daughter, Jenny Beylard (Dave); brother, Bernard James Riley, Jr.; two sisters, Irene Johnson and Elaine Rocque; three grandchildren who call her “Grandma”, Colton Beylard, Pierce Marsh and Rudy Marsh; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned for a later date. Kathy was a two-time breast cancer survivor, ovarian cancer survivor and recently received a double by-pass and heart valve replacement. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in Kathy’s memory to the American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org/ or Go Red for Women https://www.goredforwomen.org
