Katherine Ann Korey, 82

Katherine Ann “Kitty” Korey, 82, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025.  Born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Charles Brinson and Doris Crews, Kitty was a lifelong resident of northeast Florida.  She worked for the Clay County School District where she retired after more than twenty years as a school bus driver.  Kitty also drove for St. Johns Country Day School.  She was a very giving woman who had a big heart.  She freely helped anyone she could as well as stepped in to help raise the children of others.

Kitty was a creative woman who enjoyed painting and making jewelry.  She also enjoyed spending time in her garden and working with flowers.  She was a member of the Northeast Florida International Fern Society as well as the Begonia Society.

Kitty was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Brinson Crews and Doris Highsmith Crews; her beloved husband, Chuck Korey (2024); her son, Jeff Korey (2023); as well as her two brothers, Charles “Buddy” Crews, Jr. and Sydney “Wayne” Crews.  She is survived by her son, Eric Korey (Michelle); her daughter, Melissa Marquart (Barry); her aunt, Johnnie L. Hunt; five grandchildren who call her “Grandma Kitty”, Eric Korey, Jr. (Fae), Adam Korey, Taylor Korey, Ashley Casdorph, and Sean Michael Schroeder (Heather); three great-grandchildren, Marlie Schroeder, Landon Schroeder and Emrick Schroeder; as well as many extended family members including nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 11am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Patrick Martin officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Haven Hospice,  https://havenhospice.com/donate.
