Karen Sue Ward, 72

Karen Sue Ward was born September 9, 1949 in Etowah, TN to Darryl Rule and Kathryn Taddeau.  She passed away in Jacksonville, Fl on December 17^th, 2021.  She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Jerry T. Ward. She is also survived by Kerri Ward Soud (daughter), John Soud (son in law), Missy and Jackson Soud (grandchildren), Kathy Lawrence (sister), and Tracy Taddeau (sister).  She was preceded in death by Melissa Ward (daughter), Kathryn Taddeau (mother), and Tad Lawrence (nephew).

Karen was a professing follower of Christ.  She served the local church and His kingdom for over 4 decades in many capacities but will be most remembered for her role in serving alongside her husband (Jerry) in the adult ministry at First Baptist Church.  She also served in the children’s ministry at FBC Jax for 20 years, where her heart and passion for children was obvious.  Karen was full of life, energy and laughter.  She is loved by many and will be missed by many, but most importantly we will see her again.

Karen’s Celebration of Life will be held at North Jax Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main Street, Jacksonville, FL  32218, on December 23^rd, 2021 at 11:00am.  In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the North Jax Baptist Church Children’s Ministry.  www.njbc.org
