
Karen L. “Kitty” Israel, 69
Karen L. “Kitty” Israel, 69, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. Born in Gary, Indiana, Kitty was the daughter of the late Edward H. and Loretta A. Reynolds and
moved to Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of six, where she spent most of her life.
A member of Faith United Methodist Church of Jacksonville, Kitty had a joyful spirit and a wide range of interests. She loved roller skating, crafting, and playing softball—participating in both
church and coed leagues. One of her greatest joys was cheering on her sons as they played baseball and softball. Throughout most of her married life, Kitty dedicated herself to being a homemaker. Later, she worked for approximately ten years at Dr. Harold Rehbein’s Dermatology practice until his retirement.
Kitty was preceded in death by her sister, JoRetta Johnson (Leon). She is survived by her loving husband, David Israel II; her sons, David Israel III and Nick Israel; and her siblings: Eddie “Zeke” Reynolds (Tina), Edra Sage (Jeff), Greg Reynolds (Tracy), Sheila Epps, and Lynne Long (Scott). She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members
who will cherish her memory.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2025 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with burial to follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery. A time of visitation will begin at
10:00 AM on Friday.
