Judy Calfee Starling, 82, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025. She was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, to the late Betty Sanders Calfee and Donald P. Calfee.
Judy grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1961, before earning a bachelor’s degree from Florida State University. She worked for several branches of the Jacksonville Public Library, serving as head librarian at both Willow Branch and Murray Hill. She later worked as a librarian for the Florida Times-Union, where her dedication and intellect led her to become a copy editor of the paper’s editorial page.

She devoted much of her life to caring for others, serving as a caretaker to many family members, both immediate and extended. She consistently put the needs of others before her own and gave generously of her time, heart, and strength. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Eddie H. Starling; her daughters, Donna White (Robert) and Dani Starling (John); her sister, Jane Storm; and her granddaughter, Lauren White.
