Judith Ann “Judy” Douglass, 77

Judith Ann “Judy” Douglass, 77 of Fleming Island, FL passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 peacefully in her home.  Judy was born in Dorchester, Illinois and moved to Florida in 1972.  She raised her children in Ocala and then Longwood. She then moved to Fleming Island 10 years ago to be closer to her family again.

Judy enjoyed going to the beach, traveling, family reunion cruises, shopping, painting, playing her keyboard, decorating her adorable new home, going to local concerts and shows, playing endless card  and board games with her family and friends, and making up her own words in games of scrabble.  She kept very active and  enjoyed line dancing  along with  daily Pickleball with her friends.  She even taught her family to love  the game  just as much as she has.

Judy not only enjoyed life, but she lived and loved every single moment.  She made lemons out of lemonade and never let anything stand in her way.  She battled ovarian cancer for five years but never once complained. She was a strong woman and continued to make the most of every single day.

Judy lived for her children and grandchildren. Not only was she the best Grandmommy, but she was always a present Grandmommy. She had special little hobbies and activities she did with  each of her grandchildren. She took pride and joy into enjoying endless pool parties, sleepovers,  and always making her family feel like her number one priority.

Judy worked  for the FBI doing clerical work before having children.  Then she became a full-time mom along with working for various insurance agencies typing out reports and even worked part-time delivering  police cars all over Florida for a local car store.

Judy is survived by her children, Jackie (Andy) Kent, Marc (Lauren) Douglass and Jeffrey Douglass, five grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Carson, Laurali, and Quindi, as well as many extended family members.  She grew up on a small town farm home in Illinois with her loving parents and family of 9 children.  She will be dearly missed by her huge support system of family and friends, including her good friend, Bob Culp, who never left her side.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720
