John Samuel Brantley, 77

John Samuel Brantley, 77 of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025.  John was born in Jasper, FL to the late John S. and Rosie Vaughn Brantley and grew up in Live Oak and Jasper area.  At the age of 13, John began working at Bobby Martin Dairy in Callahan, later named Walker Dairy, then moved to Sandridge Dairy in 1997, where he retired in 2017.  He was a hardworking man and a faithful employee.

John always had a love for animals, had a dry humor and a way of explaining life lessons that was unique to those who would listen.  Of all the titles John may have had over the years, “Papa John” was his favorite.  He was loved and will be dearly missed.

John was preceded in death by his wife, Irene, who he missed dearly, and is survived by his children, Bobbie Jean (Richard) Carden, Timothy Ray (Samantha) Brantley, David William (Bridget) Brantley, and Jason Brantley, two brothers, Gene (Lilly) Brantley and Kenneth (Lola) Brantley, sister, Pat (Clarence) Wimberly, eight grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Darren, Ashleigh, Taylor, Irene, Timothy, and Cassie as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 12, 2025 in Airline Baptist Church Cemetery, near Mayo, FL with Pastor Shaun Bridges officiating.
