John David “JD” Johnson, Sr., 84

John David “JD” Johnson, Sr., 84 of Middleburg, FL passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021.  JD was born in Bell, Florida and moved to Middleburg 15 years ago from Florahome.  He grew up in Jacksonville, was a veteran of the US Army following the Korean War, and was a member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge #266.  Over the years, JD was also a member and past Ambassador of the Morocco Shrine and Scottish Rite and former president of the Hot Sparks performing in parades and various events.  For over 37 years, JD drove for Great Southern, Ryder and Ryder/PIE before fully retiring as owner/operator for CSX Intermodal after 10 years.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed gardening both plants and vegetables and had fond memories of being on the lake with family.  He was a member of CrossPointe Church in Fleming Island.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margie Johnson, children, David (Patsy) Johnson, William (Pam) Johnson, Barbara (Bruce) Moore, and Ronald (Sharon) Johnson, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 18, 2021 at CrossPointe Church with Rev. Ron Baker officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 PM Monday in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be from 10-11:00 AM prior to services.
