Jared Bailey, 35

Jared Bailey was born in April of 1982 in Patuxent River, Maryland, and passed away on December 10, 2017, after a short battle with cancer.  He lived in Maryland and Texas for short periods of time, but resided in Florida for the majority of his life.  Jared was a 2004 graduate of the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program at Ridgeview High School, and always considered the staff and administration at RHS to be family.  Jared’s interests included: long motorcycle rides with his dad, driving his John Deere Gator around his neighborhoods, trips to the dollar store, Five Guys burgers, feeding ducks, woodworking projects, Disney movies, and holiday celebrations with his family.  Jared loved bulldozers, trains and emergency vehicles with lights and sirens.  He always had a big smile and gave hugs freely and frequently.  Though Jared did not speak through words, his enthusiasm for life spoke volumes to those who knew and loved him.  He never met a stranger.  Jared touched the lives of everyone he met and made them a better person for knowing him.

Jared leaves behind his parents, Jim and Lori Bailey; his sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Mike Bailey; grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.  He will truly be missed by all.  The world lost a bright ray of sunshine when we lost Jared.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jared’s honor to the Clay County Special Olympics.  Please send donations, with “Clay County” on the memo line, to:

I was so sorry to hear of Jared’s death. I still remember my first memories of him. A handsome tow headed little boy full of energy. Jared was always full of energy and eager to participate in life.
I know he will be missed by you and his friends.

    My prayers are with you.
