Janet Van Den Heuvel Turner, 92, passed away February 5, 2024 in Haven Hospice in Orange Park, Florida. Janet was the first child of Dorothy and Archie Van Den Heuvel, born May 26, 1931, and she shared her childhood in Elkton, Maryland with her sister Sylvia (Underwood) who passed in 2020.

Retiring to Florida in 1983, Janet and John combined golf and travel, and completed eighteen holes of golf in each of the fifty states. They also enjoyed seeing the world on numerous cruises.

After John Sr.’s passing in 2011, Janet remained in their home in Estero, Florida until 2021, when she moved to Green Cove Springs, Florida where she lived with Bruce and Carrol Turner. She was an involved member of Trinity Community Church of Fleming Island.

A memorial service will be scheduled for a future date, and Janet’s ashes will join those of her soulmate and devoted husband, John Sr., in the Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church cemetery in Elkton, Maryland.
