Hazel Yvonne Vinkemulder, 86

Hazel “Yvonne” Vinkemulder, 86 of Penney Farms, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017.

“Well done thy good and faithful servant”

It was during the early years of the Great Depression on August 21, 1930, that Yvonne Vinkemulder made her entrance into the world in Kentwood, Michigan. Many years of study included Kelloggsville Elementary and Rudyard High School, Blodgett School of Nursing, Trinity Bible College of Chicago and University of Miami Law School.  She practiced nursing in Petoskey (Michigan), Colorado Springs, and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s Cedar Campus in Cedarville (Michigan).  She served InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Administration, planned giving, and as legal counsel.  She moved from Madison, Wisconsin to Penney Retirement Community in 2002 and served as a volunteer in many capacities.  Her training and life work gave Yvonne lots of opportunity to fix her eyes on Jesus and serve others for God’s glory.  Now she will spend her forever time praising her Savior too.

Helping Jesus welcome Yvonne into heaven were her parents, Arthur and Frances (DeWitt) and her siblings: Helen and brother-in-law Merle Brood, Muriel and brother-in-law Arthur Burns, her brother, Donald, and brother-in-law Clifford Postma.  When their work on earth is done, sister, Faye Postma and sister-in-law Rosie Vinkemulder as well as many nieces and nephews look forward to joining her.

Memorials may be made to: IVCF (InterVarsity Christian Fellowship) www.intervarsity.org or PET (Mobility Worldwide Florida Penney Farms) www.mobilityworldwide.org or a charity of mutual interest would be continuation of Yvonne’s lifelong services to her Lord.

Graveside Services were held 2:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 in Penney Retirement Community Cemetery with Pastor Wendell Karsen officiating.

Memorial Services will also be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 8, 2017 in Penney Memorial Church.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720
