Faye (Sue) Carlton Lee, 87

Faye (Sue) Carlton Lee, 87 of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away Monday afternoon, December 8, 2025, surrounded by family.  She was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late William Robert Carlton and Leafie Knowles Carlton.

Mrs. Lee was a graduate of Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida. She met her husband, Alton Jerry Lee, while spending summers in Green Cove Springs and attending Russell Baptist Church with her aunt and uncle, Rev. Jack and Thelma Hall. Rev. Hall was the long-time pastor of Russell Baptist Church, and Alton was the music director. Alton and Sue married on August 16, 1956.  Mrs. Lee was a long-time member of Russell Baptist Church where she also worked as the church secretary for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Lee later helped start Lake Asbury Baptist Church where they were charter members.

Sue enjoyed working with her flowers and alongside her husband in their summer garden. She loved to can and freeze vegetables. Sewing, cooking, crafting, and reading were among her hobbies. She also loved to decorate for the holidays. Alton and Sue both loved the mountains and spent many summers vacationing there most years.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Alton Lee. She is survived by daughters, Debbie (Skip) Moxley, Karen (Jock) Bush, and Lisa (Charles) Salazar; brother-in-law, Earl (Eudy) Lee; three grandchildren, Adam, Jason and Katie; and seven great grandchildren, Greyson, Micah, Brianna, Lily, Wade, Jaxson, and Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Russell Baptist Church with Pastor James Younis officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to services.
