Douglas Moore Wilson, 80

Douglas Moore Wilson, 80 of Middleburg, FL passed away Friday, April 10, 2026.

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Dad caught the train to Heaven last Friday afternoon.  His passing was very peaceful and he was surrounded by his family.  We find comfort knowing he is now in heaven and reunited with our mom, Annette, his wife of 54 years, and that he is fishing with his son, Shane.

Doug was born in Gardendale, Alabama and grew up in the Selma, Alabama area before entering the US Army.  He was honorably discharge in 1969 as a Vietnam War veteran.  After the military, Doug began working for CSX where he retired after over 20 years employment.

Doug loved being part of a church family, leading worship.  He enjoyed music; both church and secular and playing the guitar, the piano, and several other musical instruments.  Singing was a wonderful outlet for Doug.  He will dearly be missed by his family and friends.

Doug is survived by his son, Andy (Hope) Wilson, daughter, Stacy (Barry) Tappan, stepson, Wayne Waits, brother, Wayne Weaver, sister, Karen Howard, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Doug’s family wishes to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this difficult time.  They also want to express appreciation to Kindred Hospital of Green Cove Springs, FL.
