Donald Roy Rupard, 93

Donald Roy Rupard, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born in Washington, DC, to parents Roy Chester Rupard and Cora Dameron Rupard. Donald was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Stars.

He later retired as a Sergeant from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department, where he served as a motorcycle officer. He was also a proud member of the Blue Knights, who are an International Law Enforcement motorcycle club. Donald lived his life to the fullest, he also had his pilot’s license with an Instrument Rating for night time flying. He and Sallie also loved riding their Harleys with their friends and family. He was also a gunsmith and lifetime member of the NRA, and spent time traveling and helping his brother-in-law, Roy Clark, manage his entertainment appearances with his show HEE HAW.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Cora Rupard; daughters, Peggy Jean Sexton and Sherri Lynn Rupard; and Sister, Maureen Schafer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sallie Barnard Rupard; sons, Rick Lee Rupard (Belinda Dianne Rupard), Jason Roy Rupard (Geana Rupard); Daughter, Debra Lee Stell (Ricky Stell); sisters, Barbara Joyce Clark and Joan Paulson; 8 Grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2025, in the Russell Haven of Rest Chapel. A time of viewing and visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM, before the service.

Interment will be at Fort Lincoln Funeral Home and Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.
