Denis Michael Gurney, 89

Denis Michael Gurney, 89 of Middleburg, FL passed away March 17, 2017. He was born in Victoria, British Columbia and moved to the United States in the 1950s.  Mr. Gurney was a veteran of the Canadian Army serving during WW II.  While living in Jacksonville, he was a manager for some local furniture stores.  He enjoyed a good walk, dancing and reading the Florida Times Union from front to back.

Mr. Gurney was preceded in death by his grandson, Kevin Horton and is survived by his children, Celia (Jimmy) Lyon, Claire (James) Kenyon, Colleen (Steve) Gibbert and Glenn (Anita) Gurney, seven grandchildren, Sara, Teresa, Angela, Jennifer, Denis, Vanessa and Bill, several great grandchildren and the mother of his children, Helen Gurney.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2017 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest. Mr. Gurney will be laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery of Orange Park, FL.
