Deborah Padgett McDonald, 67

Deborah Padgett McDonald, 67, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 22, 2020.  Debbie was born in Pensacola, FL to the late William Padgett and Elsie Rushing Padgett.  She moved to Clay County from Jacksonville 35 years ago.  Debbie was employed by the Clay County School Board for 24 years, spending most of her career at Clay High School as their bookkeeper.  She was well-known and well-loved by the faculty and students.  She enjoyed having her friends and family over to entertain and cook for them.  Debbie was a master chef to her family, as she loved to cook.  She was a member of Fellowship Bible Church and played the piano during the Sunday evening worship services.  Her family describes her as compassionate, loving, selfless, kind hearted, and talented.  She was a woman of grace her entire life.

Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, John McDonald; her parents, William and Elsie Padgett; and two brothers, Gerald Padgett and Rodney Padgett.  She is survived by three sons, John Patrick McDonald, David William McDonald, and Trey Parnell; two daughters, Carol Jimerson (Stan) and Kirsten Parnell; one sister, Peggy Wooten; ten grandchildren, Erin McDonald, Matt McDonald, Sean McDonald, Morgan McDonald, Pogie McDonald, Christopher McDonald, Ariel Warner, Zach Warner, Kimberly Taylor, and Andrew Michael Parnell; 5 great-grandchildren, Aiden, MacKenzie, James, Olivia, and Evan (Max); as well as three close friends, Donna Cooksey, Cheryl Petrucci, and Cheryl Nix.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at 4pm in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Gary Schilling officiating.  Visitation with the family will be at 3:30pm just prior to services.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
