Clyde Wayne Morgan, 73

Clyde Wayne Morgan, 73, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023.  He was born in Nashville, TN to the late James and Lela Morgan.  Wayne spent most of his life in Nashville before moving to the Clay County area in 2017.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after 31 years.  His work in aircraft maintenance took him to Panama, Germany and Kuwait during Desert Storm and Desert Shield.  He was a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association.  After retiring from the USAF, Wayne worked for the Frist Art Museum as well as Beaman Automotive.  

Wayne enjoyed woodworking as well as talking about it with his brother-in-law, Terry.  He collected NASCAR diecast cars and liked going to car shows.  Wayne was famous for playing Santa and delighted many children over the years.  He was a wonderful companion to his wife, Mary. 

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lela Morgan; his brother, Larry Morgan; and his son, Christopher W. Morgan.  He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Morgan; daughter-in-law, Shelley Morgan; several nieces and nephews; two great nieces, Abigail Reynolds and Maryn Nance; and Kayla Carney.
