Charles “Richard” Hunter, Jr., 60

Charles “Richard” Hunter, Jr., 60 of Middleburg, FL passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by loved ones on Monday, October 26, 2020.  Richard was born at the Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville, Fl at a young age.  He grew up in Jacksonville and had been a resident of Middleburg, Fl  since 1973.  He was a truck driver for over 30 years both as a self employed driver and for various trucking companies over the years.

Mr. Hunter was an independent and stubborn man with a “heart of gold” and would help anybody that was in need. Richard was a wonderful husband and father who provided for his family and was an example of hard work.  He also taught his family to love the Lord. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar at church in his younger years. He enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time being “Papa” to his eight grandchildren, Dylan, Emily, Brooke, Anna Claire, Chandler, Juliana, Eliza and Isabella.

Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richard Hunter, Sr. and sister, Carol Hunter and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Laurie Hunter, children, Andy (Rhonda) Hunter, Billy (Alicia) Hunter and Leslie (Nate) Beck, mother, Betty Hunter, brothers, Steve (Hope) Hunter, Sr. and Mike (Kerry) Hunter and many extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, November 5, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Middleburg,  A time of visitation with the family will be from 5-6:00 PM prior to services.
