Bobby Ralph Hayes, 80

Bob (Purple) R. Hayes of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on November 3rd, 2025 in the comfort of his own home. He was born December 24th, 1944 in Mount Vernon, IL to the late Bob and Betty Hayes. Bob spent many of his adult years between Florida and Indiana before finally settling in Green Cove Springs, FL in 2016.

Bob is survived by his ex-wife and forever best friend, Jennifer Hayes; his children, Rob Hayes and wife, Kim of Jacksonville, FL and Amy Phillips and husband, Tim of Green Cove Springs, FL; grandchildren, Brent Walker, Marlee Phillips, Zane Delano, and Rylan Phillips; siblings, Mike (Julie) Hayes and Nancy (John) LeGrand; as well as his beloved dog Molly, three granddogs, and two great-granddogs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Payne and his beloved dog Chevis.

Bob proudly served his country as a Petty Officer 3rd Class in the United States Navy from 1966-1969. After his service in the Navy, he held positions with Movsovitz & Sons and General Tire. Bob enjoyed bass fishing, earning the title “Here Bass Bob” from his fishing buddies. He loved watching football and could always be found in front of the TV when the Florida State Seminoles played. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by many.

In true Bob fashion, he requested little fanfare be made. In lieu of a service or memorial, he asked that friends and family have a cup of coffee, a Miller Lite or a Jack Daniels Neat in his honor.
