Armatina Sue Nelson, 81

Armatina Sue Nelson, 81 passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024. Armatina was born in Norwood, North Carolina to parents Helen Lowder and Elijah Harward. She lived in the Jacksonville, FL area since 1965, where she and her husband James Nelson together raised their family. Armatina was a hairdresser and owner of The Looking Glass, hair salon for many years. She also enjoyed gardening her flowers, camping at the beach with her family, going to church and spend time on her porch with her dear husband of almost 60 years.

Armatina was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Elijah Harward; her brother, Daniel Harward; and sister Henrietta Harward Goodbread.

She is survived by her loving husband, James Earl Nelson; son, Dennis Ray Nelson; daughter, Teresa Elaine Nelson Norman (Riley); daughter-n-law, Cheryl Moore Nelson; brother, Harry Harward (Judy); brother-n-law, Jacob Goodbread; grandchildren, Jamelyn Nelson, Ethan Nelson, Shelby Nelson, Shalia Norman, Tyler Spicer and Ava Norman; and great-grandchildren, Logan Landon, Liliana Nelson, Able Nelson and Ethan Nelson Jr.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, April 12, 2024 at Calvary Assembly of God (9 Knight Boxx Rd., Orange Park, FL 32065) with Pastor Greg Evans officiating.
