Angela Kay Jacobson, 61, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. She was born in Sullivan, Missouri, to parents Marie Schatz Bates and Charles Bates.

After graduating from Sullivan High School, Angela joined the United States Navy where she served honorably and was medically discharged. The family then settled in the Jacksonville area, making North Florida their home.

Angela worked as a bookkeeper for more than 25 years, serving with dedication at several local accounting firms. Outside of her professional life, she found joy in traveling, especially on cruises, and cherished the companionship of her beloved animals, including her former dog, Nana, and her new puppy, Nina. Above all, Angela lived for her family. She adored being a mother to her three children and a grandmother to her five grandchildren. She also treasured every opportunity to return home to Missouri to visit loved ones.

Angela will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bates. She is survived by her mother, Marie Spencer; step-mother, Ina Bates; sons, Michael Hart (Lauren) and Charles Jacobson (Rachel); daughter, Jenna Jacobson; brothers, Roger Bates (Crystal), Glen Bates (Trish), Dennis Young (Amber), and Doug Young; sister, Diana Lovell (Derrick); grandchildren, Carmen Mullins, Christian Hart, Kaydence Hart, Parker Gray, and Weston Jacobson; numerous nieces and nephews and many other extended family members.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 10:00 AM–11:00 AM, before the service.
