Adam Ryals Hunt, 27

Adam Ryals Hunt passed away on June 24, 2022 in Orlando, Florida. Adam was born on March 6, 1995 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Eddie(Ed) and Jerre Ryals Hunt. He attended Clay County Florida Schools and graduated from Fleming Island High School in 2013. Adam received his Bachelor of Arts in French from the University of North Florida and his Master’s of Arts Degree in Public History at Florida State University May of 2020. During Adam’s time of study in Early Modern French History, he worked in Special Collections with the Reichelt Oral History Collection and the French Revolution and Napoleon Collection. During this time he realized he wanted to be an Archivist so made the switch to Public History. Following graduation, Adam was employed by Florida State University in the Libraries Special Collections and Archives Department and had recently taken a position with the University of Central Florida in Orlando as an Archivist. Adam was a talented guitarist, a lover of art, history, creative cooking, a love of online video gaming, and most important to him was his cat, Blitzen. Adam never met a stranger and had love and compassion for everyone.

Adam is survived by his parents, Ed and Jerre Hunt of Fleming Island, Florida, a sister Meredith Hunt of Fleming Island, brother and sister in law Cameron and Taryn Hunt and nephew Cayden of Jacksonville, Florida and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved him dearly. Adam was the grandson of the late Edgar and Charlotte Hunt of Denton, North Carolina and the late Preston and Rosalyn Ryals of Benson, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Fleming Island United Methodist Church (7170 Hwy 17 Fleming Island, Florida) on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at Grace Place on the Church property immediately following the service. Lunch will be served and all are welcome to attend. A private committal service will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Jacksonville, Florida.
