Joseph Lex Carmichael, 42

Joseph Lex Carmichael, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on August 15, 2026, in Green Cove Springs, Florida, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 42 years old.

He was born on March 28, 1984, in Orange Park, Florida, to David and Marian Carmichael.

Joe loved deeply and lived with a heart full of love for his family. His family was his greatest joy, and the memories they created together will remain in their hearts forever. He was a wonderful father and was incredibly proud of his beautiful daughter, Makenzie.

Joe found happiness in the simple things that made life meaningful, especially spending time in nature and on the water. He loved fishing, hunting, and, most of all, being surrounded by the people he loved.

Joe had a way of leaving a lasting impression on those around him. He did not need a room full of people or a great deal of attention to make a difference. His presence and the way he loved others created memories that will remain with us forever.

He is survived by his wife, Christin Carmichael; his daughter, Makenzie Carmichael; his mother, Marian Carine; his sister, Christine Nichols; his step brothers, Michael Carine, Kevin Carine, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Carmichael; and his step father, Raymond Carine.

Though his time with us was far too short, the love Joe gave and the memories he created will live on forever. His family will carry his love with them in every sunset, every day on the water, every quiet moment, and every memory that brings a smile through the tears.

We will forever love and miss you.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Additional details will be announced when they become available.

Joe, you were not only my little brother, but also my best friend. You were always there for me and never thought twice if I needed anything ever, even if it was just an ear to listen or a shoulder to cry on. Nothing will ever be the same without you here with us. Give Dad a big hug for me. Love you and miss you so much!
