Robert Ward Jadwin, 82

Robert Ward Jadwin, a loving husband, father, adventurer, and church leader, was born July 19, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He passed away August 13, 2026, in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 82.

Bob graduated from Florida State University in 1966 with a degree in chemistry and was a proud member of the Marching Chiefs. Throughout his life, he pursued many different careers and interests, including working as a chemist and a policeman and owning and operating a number of businesses. In the 1970s, he served as mayor of Haines City, Florida.

Bob was a private pilot and enjoyed flying, as well as sailing and snow and water skiing. He was also deeply involved in his church home, Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder and later retired as Elder Emeritus.

He had an adventurous spirit and a love of travel, enjoying opportunities to see new places and experience different things throughout his life. His children’s memories are full of trips, historical places, and lots of Bob-cuts.

He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his accomplishments, his devotion to his church, his love of the Lord, and the many people whose lives he touched throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Bette; his sister, Merrily Nash; his children, Jean Ledyard (John), Douglas Newton, Jeffrey Jadwin, Jaime Jadwin (Donald Barber), Robert Jadwin (Megan), and Julie Dyer; and his grandchildren, Emily Ledyard, Heather Fields, Marshall, Mason and Hannah Jadwin, and Abigail and Jonathan Dyer. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Durward and Betty Jadwin; his sister, Gerilou Thompson; and his infant grandson, Robert Samuel Dyer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 21, 2026 at 11am in the chapel at Russell Haven of Rest with Stephen Spinnenweber officiating.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services at 10am.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
