Barbara Ann Greene, age 81, of Green Cove Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, June 28, 2026.

Barbara was born in Brunswick, Georgia, to Adell Floyd. She graduated from Paxton High School and moved to Lake Asbury in 1974 from the Marietta community of Jacksonville, Florida. She built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and caring for others.

Barbara retired from Orange Park Hospital after more than 20 years of dedicated service, where she supervised the Insurance Department. She was known for her warm hospitality and exceptional cooking, opening her home to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone in need. Whether preparing holiday meals, hosting family celebrations, or simply making everyone feel welcome, Barbara gave generously of herself.

In her later years, Barbara devoted herself to caring for her beloved husband with unwavering love and compassion. Her family will remember her generous heart, quiet strength, and selfless spirit, especially in the loving care she gave to those she cherished most. Of all the roles she held throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being “Nanny” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Greene, and her granddaughter, Rachel Greene.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Larry “Bobby” Greene; her son, Jody Greene, and his husband, Andy Prieto; her son, Daniel “Butch” Greene; her daughter-in-law, Tracey Greene; her grandchildren, Sara, Adell, Justin, and Parker; her great-grandchildren, Rachel, Matthew, River, Chloe, Conner, Caleb, Reece, and Carter; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, July 3, 2026 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest with Pastor Jim Rhein officiating.  Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM prior to services.
