Janet Day Malloy, 96

Janet Day Malloy, 96 passed away Thursday, May 14, 2026 of St. Johns, FL formerly of Cohasset, MA. Born and raised in Brookline, MA., Janet was the daughter of the late Anna Margaret
(Howe) and John Henry Day. Janet was pre-deceased by her husband of 41 years, William F Malloy (Bill), and her two siblings, Frances Day Meyers and John Henry Day, Jr.

Janet grew up spending her summers in Scituate, MA (Sand Hills and Minot) and was a graduate of Brookline High School and Mount Ida College. Janet married William F. (Bill) Malloy also of Brookline, MA in Sept 1952 at St. Mary of the Nativity Church in Scituate Harbor. They made their home in North Scituate (Minot) where they raised 6 children.

Janet and Bill moved to Cohasset, MA in 1978 where Janet volunteered within the Cohasset Community for years delivering meals on wheels, working for the food pantry and volunteering
at the flu clinics. She was an avid golfer and was known to hit a 3-iron further than most woman hit drivers. She had the good fortune to 2 hole-in ones in her lifetime (Cohasset Country Club and Quail Ridge Country Club in Florida).

Mrs. Malloy is survived by her children, Jane (Martin) Corry, Ellen Malloy, William (Dianne) Malloy, Larry Malloy, Karen Malloy Deckel and Janet (Mark) Rattenbury, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A mass of remembrance will be held at Westminster Woods at Julington Creek in St. Johns, Florida.

A funeral mass will take place at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Cohasset, MA on Friday, June 26 at 11:00 am. A private burial service will follow the mass at Woodside Cemetery in Cohasset, MA.
