Sharon Walsh Rodatz, 78
Sharon Margaret Walsh Rodatz passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on January 28, 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama and is the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy Walsh. Sharon graduated from Woodlawn High School, where she was Head Majorette. She then went to Auburn University and obtained a degree in Biology. At Auburn, she met the love of her life, Chris Rodatz, and they were married in 1968. They settled in Hawaii where Chris was in the Marine Corps and in 1976 their daughter Erika Candace was born. In 1985 they moved to Orange Park, Florida, where she later became a biology and reading teacher at Middleburg High School.
Sharon loved reading and enjoyed traveling to the North Georgia mountains where she and Chris had a second home. She was an ardent supporter of education in Clay County and served numerous terms on the Clay County Education Foundation including President.
Sharon was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Chris; her daughter, Candace Rodatz Barnes; son-in-law, Casey Barnes; grandson, Christian; brother, Buz Walsh (Marsha); nephews, Bret, Dalton (Leah), and her wonderful cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 1 pm at The Grove, 2525 Country Club Blvd. Orange Park, Florida 32073. In lieu of flowers, any donation can be made to the Haven Hospice Foundation, https://havenhospice.com/donate.
