Earl Warren Birdsall “Bird”, 71

Earl Warren Birdsall “Bird” passed away peacefully at his home on November 15, 2025, in Fleming Island, Florida. Born on January 15, 1954, in Cheboygan, Michigan, Earl lived a life marked by service, devotion to family, and a deep commitment to his faith
and country.

Earl married his sweetheart, Theresa Kay “Tuffy” in 1974. Together, they raised five children and enjoyed a life full of adventure and love. Earl enjoyed cooking, oyster roasts, sailing, golfing, and watching football and baseball games. He was intrigued with lighthouses and had an impressive Harbor Lights collection. He had a captivating voice and was musically talented. He directed the music program at his home church, Trident Baptist, where he was also a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher and bus driver.

Earl began his education at Forest View School before attending Walter French Junior High and graduating from Everett High School in the class of 1972. He later pursued further training at the Commercial Trade Institute, graduating in 1980. This marked the
beginning of a distinguished military career that would span five decades.

Immediately following high school, Earl enlisted in the United States Navy in 1972. Over the course of his long and honorable service, he rose to the rank of E-7 before retiring in January 2022. His naval career was both diverse and impactful. He served as a Marine
Mechanic aboard several submarines including the USS Ulysses S. Grant (SSBN 631), USS Sturgeon (SSBN 637), the USS George Bancroft (SSBN 643) and finished his military career as a Water Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor at the Naval Air
Station Jacksonville FL.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Rita Ann Metevier and Lauren Earl Birdsall; his sister, Lynne Winters and his aunt and uncle, Richard and Gladys Summers.  Earl is survived by his wife, Theresa Kay Birdsall; their children Tracy Crisp (John), Heather Crall (Douglas), Jason Birdsall, Jerron Birdsall (Sandi) and Justin Birdsall
(Heather); his grandchildren, Arianna Howard (Brandon), Austin Crisp, Malia Costanza (Frankie), David Crall, Justice Birdsall, Lauren Birdsall, Carolyna Birdsall, Natalie Donovan, Seth Birdsall, Jasmine Hartson, Aubrey Donovan, Addison Birdsall, Sophia Birdsall; and his great grandchildren, Layton, Laylynn, Lane, and Wrenley.

A celebration of Earl’s life will be arranged under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs, FL. Details of the service will be forthcoming once preparations have been made.
