Frederik (Fred) Lucus Kloosterman, 54

Frederik (Fred) Lucus Kloosterman, 54, of Middleburg, FL, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children after battling cancer since 2023, never giving up hope or his faith in Jesus.

Born in Rochester, New York, Fred grew up in Greeneville, TN. After marrying in 1995, he and his wife Regina soon moved to Melbourne, Florida. His career later took them to Atlanta, GA, and Asheville, NC, before returning to NE Florida in 2007, where they made Middleburg their home in 2008.

Fred’s warmth, sense of humor, and love for his family and friends touched everyone he came in to contact with. A kind and generous soul, Fred was loved by all who knew him. He found joy in home projects and carpentry, having built many things for the family home over the years. He loved pizza, the ocean and all things “Jimmy Buffet”, watching movies, “his KC Chiefs”, and was a devoted member of The Church of Eleven22 – Orange Park Campus.

For the past 10 years, Fred worked as the warehouse supervisor for Avmax Spares in Jacksonville, after over 16 years in apartment maintenance.

Fred is survived by his wife of 30 years, Regina Kloosterman; three sons, Blake (Karly) Gefellers, Devin Gefellers, and Zachery (Danielle) Kloosterman; his parents, Frederick and Cheryle Kloosterman; three brothers, Russell (Mary) Kloosterman, James (Shannon) Kloosterman, and Johnathan (Michelle) Kloosterman; one granddaughter, Bernadette “Birdie” Ruth Gefellers; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Eleven22 – Orange Park Campus, 317 Blanding Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073.

Fred will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
