Joan Margaret Schuster-Helwig (Doyle), 80
Joan Margaret Schuster-Helwig (Doyle) of Middleburg, FL passed away the 22nd of May, 2025. Joan was born and raised in Jamaica, (West Indies), and after extended periods in both Canada and Jamaica, moved to Connecticut in 1991, then to Florida where she lived for over 30 years. In Jamaica, Joan worked in bookkeeping and hotel management, and after moving to the United States, worked in the restaurant industry where she continued to prove her “I will not fail” work ethic even to the point of working multiple 24 hours shifts a week.
Never one to sit still, Joan earned her master welder certificate at the age of 60. She loved her animals, had a great sense of humor, and always had a smile for everyone.
Joan was preceded in death by her husbands, Keith (1984), and Kenneth (2001), and her daughter, Judith, in January 2025. She is survived by her children Deborah, Robert, Sabrina, and Keith, her brothers Paul, Brian, and Dennis, and eleven grandchildren and extended family.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 4346 Co Rd 218, Middleburg, FL 32068. Burial will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery.
