With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Collier Lloyd Hunt, who departed this world far too soon on June 15, 2025, at the age of 27.  We know that Collier surrendered his heart to Jesus Christ, and because of that precious decision, we have peace knowing he is now in heaven, embraced by God’s eternal love. His troubled soul needed rest, and the good Lord has called him home.

Born on March 28, 1998, Collier lived a full life full of adventure, spontaneity, and the kind of stories that became legends among friends and family. He had a deep and abiding love for living life to the fullest; perhaps he knew that his demise would come sooner rather than later.  He loved Black Creek, the St. John’s River, the ocean, and the beach.  At all of those places, he loved the peaceful art of fishing, where he found both adventure and serenity. Whether it was casting a line at dawn on a bass boat,  walking barefoot in the surf, or deep-sea fishing, Collier was most alive when surrounded by water and nature.

A gifted storyteller, semi-professional karaoke star, and a spirited soul, Collier had the rare ability to light up any room. He had a booming laugh, a knack for humor, and a signature way of drawing others into his world through animated tales, quoting movie lines, acting crazy, or just singing songs. Singing was his joy and his gift; off-key or on, it was always sung with heart.

Collier was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Charis Elissa Hunt, whose loving presence shaped the spontaneous and vibrant person he became.

He is survived by those who will carry his memory forward with enduring love: his children, Austin Chace, Delylah Rose, Amelia Charis-Marie, and Autumn Grace; his father, Stanley U. Hunt; his older brothers, Joshua James Hunt and Chase Allen Stout; and his younger sister, Cecilia Reagan Hunt. All family members had a bond with Collier that was deep and unwavering, full of shared memories, mischief, adventures, days of mourning, days of joy, late-night talks, and a love that will echo in their lives forever.

Collier’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him, but his spirit will forever ripple through the waters he loved, the songs he sang, and the stories that will be told for decades.

Collier’s last words to his dad were “Don’t worry so much about everything, dad, remember there is always a fish to catch, a beer to drink, and a woman to love”.

We know that family and close friends will always think of Collier when they drive over Black Creek Bridge.

A Celebration of Collier’s life will be held Noon, Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in the Chapel of Russell Haven of Rest.  A time of visitation will begin at 11:00 AM prior to services.

Arrangements are under the care of Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery, Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2335 Sandridge Road, Green Cove Springs, FL  32043.  Family and friends may share their condolences at: www.RHRFH.com 904-284-7720
