Kenneth Edward Jones, 61

Kenneth Edward Jones, age 61, of Middleburg, Florida, peacefully passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Kenny was born in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Wayne Kolen Jones and Helen Seymour Jones. He graduated from Terry Parker High School, where he was known for his participation in school activities and his loyalty to friends and family. After high school, he joined the Clay County Sheriff’s Office while pursuing a higher education. He later earned his Associate of Arts degree from Vincennes University in Indiana.

After dedicating 30 years of service to Clay County, Kenny retired in 2017 from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), where he was respected for his commitment to community safety and support. An enthusiastic sports fanatic, Kenny was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and the Miami Hurricanes, often rallying family and friends to cheer for his teams on game days.

Kenny was also a culinary enthusiast, known for his exceptional BBQ skills. Some of his most cherished memories were made around the grill, where the smell of smoke would fill the yard, and laughter would resound as family and friends gathered over delicious meals. His warm spirit and generous nature made gatherings around the grill a highlight for everyone.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Jones; his dog daughter, Khaleesi; his two sons, Kenny (Amber) Jones II and Steven (Sara) Eversole; his brother, Wayne (Marianne) Jones; his sister, Kim Grob; and his cherished grandchildren, Katie, Leighton, Hannah, and Archer. Additionally, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will carry on his legacy of love and camaraderie.

A Celebration of Life will be organized in the coming weeks to honor Kenny’s memory and the impact he had on so many lives.
